Jamie Campbell Bower addressed that his villainous character, Vecna, AKA Henry Creel, looked a little different during the current fifth season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.
In a December 2025 interview with Access Hollywood, Campbell Bower was asked about Stranger Things fans commenting on Vecna's trimmer midsection, which has been deemed his "snatched waist." Campbell Bower quipped that Vecna has been doing Zumba between the show's fourth and fifth seasons. He also jokingly expressed gratitude for the fans' comments about Vecna's physique.
"Thank you. That's my reaction. I appreciate it," said the actor to the publication.
He also quipped that Vecna "will be releasing a full-blown workout video" but only "on VHS."
This isn't the first time Campbell Bower has reacted to memes about his Stranger Things character. In an exclusive interview with Paradewhile at the Paley Center on December 19, the Twilight actor said he liked the meme that shows him wearing his Vecna prosthetics while sipping on an iced coffee.
"I mean, there’s obviously the one of me drinking coffee, which is hilarious," said Campbell Bower to Parade.
He also shared that he enjoyed a reaction meme involving Henry and Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown.
“I used one recently in a response to a fan tweet, which is just Henry looking Eleven up and down. I’ve quite enjoyed using that as of late, yeah," said Campbell Bower, who joined the Stranger Things cast for season 4.
Jamie Campbell Bower Said It Took Less Time to Transform Into Vecna for Season 5
While speaking to Access Hollywood, Campbell Bower said that it took "about four hours" to transform into Vecna for the show's fifth season, as opposed to the seven hours needed for the show's fourth season. He explained that the final look of Vecna in season 5 is "a blend of prosthetics and CGI."
"Everything that you're seeing with regards to like the movement of Vecna is my own movement," said Campbell Bower to the publication. "Obviously, we use like tracking markers on my body but realistically what you've got is you've got a prosthetic from sort of chest upwards. The hand is prosthetic and then everything else is a morph suit but painted in the sort of vinyl thing that you can see behind me, but in purple colors."
He said while he was "wearing less prosthetics" for season 5, he still had on "American football pads" and "three-inch risers in [his] shoes" to ensure that Vecna was an "imposing figure."
