Frankie Muniz Reunites With Bryan Cranston in New Malcolm in the Middle Trailer

Frankie Muniz and company are returning to the small screen.

As Malcolm in Middle nears 20 years since it premiered on Fox, Hulu and Disney+’s revival of the beloved sitcom just revealed its first full-length trailer — with an April 10 premiere date.

The new four-part event, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, follows Malcolm (Muniz) who, after shielding himself from his family for over a decade, is dragged back into their orbit when parents Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) demand his presence at their 40th anniversary party.

Fans flooded the comments section of Hulu's YouTube post featuring the trailer, voicing their excitement for the upcoming reboot. "Used to watch the original all the time with my own dysfunctional family! Honestly it's nice seeing everyone doing their thing again," wrote one user, while another person commented, "One of my most rewatched shows. I hope there's more seasons or something after Life's Still Unfair."

The original Malcolm in the Middle ran on Fox from 2000 to 2006. In addition to Muniz, 40, Cranston, 69, and Kaczmarek, 70, returning cast members include:

    Kennedy MastersonJustin BerfieldEmy Coligado

Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is taking over the role of Dewey, as previously revealed. Linwood Boomer created the original series and returns as writer and executive producer, Variety reports.

Earlier this month, Muniz took to social media to reflect on his career thus far as he hit a certain age milestone. “This is 40. Little kid me would’ve laughed if you said 2025 was real… or that I’d actually get here," he wrote on Instagram Dec. 5. "I used to try picturing 40-year-old Frankie…what I’d look like, what I’d be doing…and it felt like science fiction."

The caption of his post continued, "If you’d told 13-year-old me on the Malcolm set that I’d walk away from Hollywood, race trucks full-time in NASCAR, own a freaking olive oil store, become a husband, a dad, and somehow still get recognized as ‘that kid from the show’ two decades later… I would’ve called you crazy.”
