The highly anticipated EastEnders New Year's Day special will not get an early BBC iPlayer release, the soap has confirmed.
In the run-up to 1st January, episodes will be released on BBC iPlayer from 6am, with the exception of Thursday which will air first on BBC One and 7:30pm.
As teased after the explosive Christmas Day two-parter, trouble lies ahead for Max Branning (Jake Wood) and viewers across the nation will be taken along with the ride.
This New Year's Day, audiences will get a glimpse of what is to come in 2026, with Max taking centre stage in a situation that will not only have catastrophic consequences for him, but also the wider Branning family.

Wadey has confirmed the episode will centre around Max's wedding day to a mystery bride, along with some added surprises.
"I wanted to see what Max's return could look like in terms of his relationship with his kids. Did he want to change? And could he change? Could he be a better dad? Is he always going to be the womaniser that he was before, or is he redeemed?" he told RadioTimes.com and other press.
"We felt that the best way and the most exciting way to tell that story is to set up whether he'll be able to hold that up over the year.
"There's chaos that ensues with everything that he's got up to... him getting married, there's a woman in the bed next to him who is clearly pregnant when he wakes up... there is a whole heap of chaos."
