A SWAT team response to a report of shots fired in suburban Homer Glen led police to ask some residents to shelter in place Sunday.
According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in the 16100 block of Twin Oak Court just after 8:30 a.m. Sunday for a call of shots fired.
Deputies were told a neighbor heard shots fired near a residence, and those deputies also heard gunfire when they arrived at the scene.
As a result, those deputies established a perimeter around the residence, and asked nearby residents to shelter in place during the investigation.
A SWAT team has been called from the Will County Sheriff’s Office, and several streets are expected to be closed as the investigation unfolds.
