All-American offensive guard Billy Schrauth announced on Friday that he is forgoing his final season of eligibility at Notre Dame and entering the 2026 NFL Draft.
A fourth-year lineman from Campbellsport, Wisconsin, Schrauth was a fixture on the offensive line when healthy. He started 12 times in 2024 and then 7 times, all at left guard, in 2025.
“At this time, I have decided to take the next step in my football journey and declare for the 2026 NFL Draft,” Schrauth wrote in a post on his Instagram account. “I am confident that the valuable skills and experience I’ve gained during my time at Notre Dame will allow me to succeed at the next level.”
He joins right tackle Aamil Wagner as the second Notre Dame lineman to declare for the NFL Draft. Both players were voted team captains this season.
Still, Notre Dame is in a solid place on the offensive line. Sophomore Sullivan Absher stepped in for Schrauth when he went down with injury after the USC game and started Notre Dame’s final 5 games at left guard.
The Irish also have Charles Jagusah, who missed the entire 2025 season with an upper-body injury, to work back into the mix this upcoming offseason. Will Black, a 247 Composite 5-star signee from the 2025 class, also figures to factor into the conversation.
Schrauth was recently ranked as the 10th-best available interior lineman in the 2026 class by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. in his positional rankings.
