Woods and Towns began dating 2020 and announced their relationship on Instagram in September of that year. The couple has been candid about their relationship online and how they have supported each other through difficult times. Particularly, the death of Towns' mother in April 2020.
"It just so happened, the COVID came and kind of brought its challenges and it kind of forced us to either pick where our relationship was going to go as friends or something more," Towns said. "And we chose the latter."
Woods has shared similar sentiments on her relationship with Towns on social media. "I think it's kind of cool dating your best friend. We know each other. We know each other's hearts."
Woods also spoke to People in Nov. 2023 about her relationship with Towns and what she believes is the key to success in their relationship.
"We were really good friends before we started dating, and COVID gave us that free time in our life to really get to know each other, because a lot of people don't really get to know each other and they go into this relationship," Woods told People at the time.
Similarly, Towns shared in an interview with People in Feb. 2024 that he learned from the women in his life on what it takes to be a good partner. "You know, with my mom and my sister, I’ve seen the impact that good women have on men’s lives, and I’m just blessed that I saw that firsthand before I got with Jordyn so that I could learn to appreciate her."
