How Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker and Paul Campbell Became the Kings of Hallmark

Hallmark has a slew of leading men, but in 2025, Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker and Paul Campbell cemented themselves as the kings of the network — and Us can prove it.

Walker is a Hallmark legend — and old-timer at this point — having made his debut in 2012’s A Bride for Christmas. Campbell isn’t far behind, joining the Hallmark family in 2013 with Window Wonderland. (He produced his first film for the network in 2017 and added writer to his resume in 2020.)

Hynes is the newbie of the bunch, making his debut in 2018’s Falling for You, but he’s quickly made up for the missing years by starring in more than 20 films for Hallmark between 2018 and 2025.

The trio upped their star status in 2022 by teaming up for the first of three Three Wise Men movies, the last of which premiered this year. Campbell exclusively told Us Weekly in November that while it felt “epic” and “daunting” to write three successful features with Kimberley Sustad, he couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

“If you’re in this life, and you can make good things with good people, you’ve done it. And in this case, I think we’ve done it,” he gushed.

Walker couldn’t agree more, exclusively telling Us later that month, “I want to keep working with this group forever.” He teased that is the “goal,” as the actors are working on a “completely different adventure that we go on together.”

Throughout their time on Hallmark, each actor has left his mark on the rom-com genre and won over the hearts of fans through comedy, their ability to evolve on camera, and of course, their charm.

Let’s be serious: Walker, Campbell and Hynes have been showcasing their talent since their first films hit Hallmark Channel more than a decade ago — which is exactly why fans went wild seeing them paired up in 2022’s Three Wise Men and a Baby. But as the years have passed, the magic they bring to their films — together and individually — continues to grow, delivering dynamic performances that range from heartfelt to heartbreaking to hilarious.

All three actors made every second of their screen time count this year, with Walker even stealing the show during his brief cameo in Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. He may have only played a bartender in one scene, but we’re still thinking about it. (He then went on to star in She’s Making a List and An Unexpected Valentine, where he grabbed our attention just as easily.)

Hynes, meanwhile, was the main love interest in Christmas Above the Clouds. The majority of the movie focused on Erin Krakow‘s run-ins with her character Ella Neezer’s three Christmas ghosts, but still, every scene with Hynes had Us hooked. Then again, one of Hynes’ strengths is ability to shine even while letting others take the spotlight in an ensemble, proven by this year’s Groomsmen (which finally aired on Hallmark Channel) and Three Wisest Men, and 2023’s Never Been Chris’d.

Campbell, on the other hand, didn’t rest on his laurels in 2025 either, cowriting the final Three Wise Men trilogy film with Sustad before acting in the film as Stephan, where he made trying to impress your future-in-law seem fun while also delivering an authentic portrayal of what it looks like to live with anxiety. He then switched gears for Christmas at Catnip Cafe, playing a tall, dark and handsome veterinarian hell-bent on saving the animals of his small town. Can you say, swoon?

During 2025, Campbell starred alongside new scene partner Cahill and Three Wise Men love interest Fiona Vroom. Hynes, meanwhile, played opposite of Three Wisest Men counterpart Erin Karpluk and Krakow, the latter of which was a highly-anticipated reunion from the pair’s days on 2021’s It Was Always You. (Hynes also made a brief cameo with Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story costars Hunter King in Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story, a moment fans were excited to see.)

Walker worked with past costars Nicole Major and Lacey Chabert and new collaborators Emilie de Ravin and Rachel Boston and if he has it his way, he will continue to share the screen with his friends and viewers’ favorites, old and new.

Andrew Walker Thinks New Lacey Chabert Movie Is ‘More Magical’ Than Others

“I love working with new girls. There’s so many talented girls that I want to do movies with,” Walker exclusively told Us in November. “I mean, honestly, I would love to work with Kimberley [Sustad]. I have yet to do a movie with Kimberly and Erin Cahill and I have talked about doing a movie together.”

He continued, “Obviously, Nikki [DeLoach] and I want to reunite for some more Curious Caterers Mysteries,” before confirming that Sustad is “really high up” on his dream costar list at the moment.

Lucky for Us, Hallmark often listens to Walker, Campbell and Hynes’ requests — so it’s only a matter of time until viewers see a Walker and Sustad collab. Seeing Sustad with Hynes would also be fun as she has already worked with Campbell several times in front and behind the camera. So, here’s to hoping!

They Don’t Shy Away From Pushing Boundaries

Hallmark is known for its wholesome, family-friendly content — and no one would ever want to change that. But in the past few years, the network has been lauded for its more progressive and diverse storytelling, shining a light on a more universal life experience. That’s in part thanks to people like Walker, Campbell and Hynes, who are dedicated to making movies that feel authentic for all.

Campbell, for his part, cowrote all of the Three Wise Men films — starring himself, Hynes and Walker — as well as films like An Unexpected Christmas and Christmas by Starlight. Speaking to Us exclusively earlier this year, the actor explained that he’s cognizant of taking off the “gloss” and “polish” off his scripts in hopes of showcasing “messier,” more “imperfect” and relatable stories.

What You’ll Find in (Almost) Every Hallmark Holiday Movie: Fake Snow, Trees

The latest Three Wise Men film is a great example: Hynes’ character, Taylor, grapples over the decision of staying put or moving to San Francisco with his girlfriend, Caroline (Karplunk). While not momentum to some, a discussion of living with a romantic partner out of wedlock is a plot point that wouldn’t have shown up on Hallmark in years past. “We really try to humanize these characters,” Campbell told Us. “And not everybody waits until they’re married to move in, that’s not accurate.”

Campbell added that to the network’s credit, Hallmark — who has been continuously applauded for its progress in diversity and inclusion over the past few years — was “really good” about letting the Three Wise Men franchise “push the envelope of what maybe they’ve been comfortable with historically, or what their audience is comfortable with sometimes.”

They’ve Expanded Their Catalogs Again and Again

If you’ve been keeping track, Hallmark is no longer just the home of warm and fuzzy holiday films — although that is still their bread and butter. The network has expanded their feel-good film catalog to include rom-coms for every season in addition to making hit mystery movie franchises and Walker, Campbell and Hynes have been there every step of the way.

Both Walker and Campbell got their feet wet as the lead in a holiday film for Hallmark, which some actors wait years to accomplish. Hynes, meanwhile, began his time with the network in a fall-themed feature. They have since grown as actors and challenged themselves with a variety of topics, genres and even franchises.

In addition to the Three Wise Men trilogy — which combines comedy, Christmas and sibling shenanigans — the actors have each anchored their own film franchise.

Walker teamed up with DeLoach in 2022 for their first Hallmark Mystery movie, Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate. They have since costarred in four more detective films, with DeLoach playing an amateur sleuth and caterer named Goldy Berry and Walker portraying the local detective and her love interest, Tom Schultz. The pair have also appeared in several non-mystery movies together, including 2016’s A Dream of Christmas and 2020’s Sweet Autumn.

Campbell also added a mystery franchise to his Hallmark resume in 2023 with The Cases of Mystery Lane. In the films — the second of which premiered in 2024 — Campbell plays Alden Case, who stumbles upon a real-life murder while trying to become a private investigator. When he turns to his wife, Birdie (Aimee Garcia) to help solve it, their love life reaps the rewards.

Hynes, meanwhile, has yet to make the jump to mysteries, but he teamed up with Jonathan Bennett and B.J. Britt in 2024 for The Groomsmen trilogy. Each of the three movies focuses on a different man’s love story as the others support him before walking down the aisle. They initially premiered on Hallmark+ before becoming hits on Hallmark Channel over the summer.

When the trio aren’t in front of the camera, they are working with Hallmark behind it — once again proving they are the kings of rom-coms.

In 2025, Walker was an executive producer on his first two Hallmark films, The Reluctant Royal and Three Wisest Men. Campbell, meanwhile, has written seven movies for Hallmark as of 2025 and has three producing credits for the network.

Hynes produced a few shorts and music videos before bringing his talents to Hallmark with the 2024 Groomsmen trilogy. He also served as an executive producer on Three Wisest Men with Walker and Campbell. How these men have time for anything but Hallmark is beyond Us!

The Network Loves Them — And the Feeling Is Mutual

Both Campbell and Walker have been part of the Hallmark family for more than a decade. Hynes, meanwhile, will celebrate his 10-year anniversary in 2028, so it’s clear the network has a soft spot for all three actors.

Throughout their respective tenures with Hallmark they’ve starred in more than 75 movies combined — all of which fans have gobbled up. Campbell, Hynes and Walker, meanwhile, have expressed immense gratitude to Hallmark for championing them and the stories they continue to tell on screen.

Hallmark's Tyler Hynes and Erin Krakow's Best Quotes About Their Friendship

“Very simply [it] is just the individuals, the individuals that are part of the camp as far as executives and directors and producers and actors,” Hynes exclusively told Us in March 2023 about why he loves working for the network. “Everybody is absolutely lovely. And it seems like comparatively perhaps to other places, I think it’s as close as you can come to feeling like a family that is supportive.”

The Shifting Gears actor added: “And that just sort of bookends what is an absolutely enormous pleasure, which is the people who watch these movies. I can’t tell you enough about the human beings who watch these movies and how kind and lovely and wholesome and earnest and authentic they are. And I think it’s a very unique place.”

They Give Back to Their Fans — From Cons to Cruises and More

If there’s one thing Hallmark stars are known for — besides delivering the warmest, coziest, most romantic films every year — it’s celebrating their fans. Walker, Hynes and Campbell are no different, showing up at multiple Hallmarkie events throughout the country year after year to give back to those who tune in for each and every one of their movies.

Just this holiday season, the trio boarded the Hallmark Christmas Cruise in November to celebrate the release of Three Wisest Men and met back up for Christmas Con in New Jersey the following month. Hynes and Walker also made an appearance at the Kansas City Christmas Experience in November and December, where Hynes led a collective “Boot Shot” with attendees. The tradition, which includes drinking out of tiny, boot-shaped glasses, was started by the actor in hopes of fostering connection and community with his fans. (You can buy a boot here, but they’re all sold out right now!)

Hynes then made his way over to Nashville with Campbell and two dozen other Hallmark stars to stuff stockings at Brad Paisley and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley’s nonprofit, The Store, a free grocery store that provides “nutritious food choices and access to supportive services in a dignified, loving environment” and serves as a lifeline for families facing hunger. (Walker has put his philanthropic efforts toward Reach Out Worldwide for L.A. wildfire relief and planting trees via his juice company, Little West.)
