ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A local foundation spread holiday cheer on Christmas Eve by serving dinner to the men of La Madonna Della Strada on West Main Street. The Dezio and Gingello Foundation reported growing community support since their recent turkey giveaway on Clinton Avenue.
Organizers said the event honored the memory of Sister Grace and hoped it inspired more people to give back.

“It’s very important to me personally…and actually a lot of the guys who work at Capone’s have been through hard times. We’ve all been there at some point,” said Jake Bishop, director of the Dezio and Gingello Foundation.
“So coming back and being able to do something and inspire somebody who might be staying at La Madonna Della Strada tonight, to be able to work in the community or find new employment is very important to us,” he added.
The meals were catered by Capone’s Italian Eatery. Free haircuts were also available on-site.
