Brenton Strange (Jaguars) was one of the highest recommended TE waiver wire pickup this week.
Analysis
Brenton Strange, Jaguars — Rostered in 54% of Yahoo Leagues (Suggested 7-8% FAAB Bid)
As with Parker Washington earlier, this is a mixed bag. On the one hand, Brenton Strange has scored double-digit fantasy points in three of his last five games, and the matchup with the Colts is good on paper. On the other hand, Strange has also been under 50 receiving yards in four straight games, under four catches in three of his last four, and scored just 4.2 points against these very Colts three weeks ago.
The Jaguars’ passing game is just too diverse to trust reliably … but it has still been productive, so if you absolutely need a streamer at tight end, Strange is just about as good as it gets.
Recommendation: Should be streamed in most leagues

Who are the best stashes from the Fantasy Football TE Rankings?
AJ Barner (Seahawks) and Mike Gesicki (Bengals) are the best tight end stash ahead of Week 17.
Analysis
AJ Barner @ Panthers (12%)
In arguably the game of the year, AJ Barner popped back onto the fantasy radar, notching his first receiving touchdown since Week 5, and hitting 40+ yards for the first time since his massive 10-70-0 line back in Week 11. Now, it’ll be hard to project this Seahawks/Panthers game for 75 points (and an extra overtime possession), but Seattle does have a healthy 25.0-point team total, and the increased route participation for speedster Rashid Shaheed is helping to clear out the intermediate areas of the field.
Barner has at least three catches in each of the last four games, and he also adds ever so slightly to his floor by his continued usage on quarterback sneaks, one of which went for a touchdown back in Week 9. With rookie Elijah Arroyo on IR, there’s not much reason to believe Barner won’t continue operating as the No. 3 option on a great offense. He is available in 88% of Yahoo leagues.
Mike Gesicki vs. Cardinals (4%)
In most weeks, Mike Gesicki is dangerously close to the touchdown-or-bust level of TE streamer, but he’s got the added bonus of playing on a healthy offense projected for a slate-high 30.25 points against an Arizona defense that ranks 26th in TE aFPA. In the four games since Joe Burrow’s return, Gesicki is the TE12 in FPPG (8.3), aided by four red zone targets. Granted, some of that time came with WR Tee Higgins sidelined, but that wasn’t the case for last week’s 3-35-1 stat line.
This is a meaningless game for both parties taking the field on Sunday, but with Joe Burrow having “fun” out there and an offense looking to beat up on lesser-than defenses after getting shut out in Week 15, we could be in store for some more fireworks. Gesicki stands to benefit against a Cardinals team that has allowed 67.2 yards per game and five touchdowns to the tight end position over the last six games, both bottom-5 marks. He’s available in 96% of Yahoo leagues.
