After two years with Texas A&M, Sean Spencer is leaving the Aggies. Spencer recently accepted an opportunity at Virginia Tech, where he reunites with James Franklin.
In a note to Aggie Nation, Spencer thanked Texas A&M for the opportunity and reflected fondly on his time in College Station.
“Thank you Aggie Nation for a tremendous time — two years working with amazing people and an incredible run this year,” Spencer wrote in the note shared via social media.
“I especially want to thank the players for their dedication and trust in the process, and above all, their heart and belief in themselves.
“This is an incredible place with an unbelievable game-day experience in Kyle Field.
“I want to thank Mike Elko for over 20 years of friendship and our third job working together.
“To TJE, BadBoys 4L man!! And to the rest of the DLine crew, love y’all too.
“Lastly, I want to thank the WildDogs for putting the culture first and believing in core values and COMPETITIVE ENDURANCE, for playing for the man next to you.
“Love you boyz. #WD4L!! Greatness awaits.”
Before his stops in the NFL and at Florida, Spencer was an assistant under Franklin at Vanderbilt (2011-13) and at Penn State (2014-19).
