Inside Ballerina Farm: Everything to Know About Hannah and Daniel Neeleman’s Children

Hannah Neeleman and husband Daniel Neeleman, known as Ballerina Farm, prioritize being parents. When you have as many kids as they do, well, you don't have much of a choice: Former dancer and pageant queen Hannah, 35, and JetBluenepo baby Daniel, 36, are raising eight children along with a bunch of livestock, geese and more on their Utah homestead.

Thankfully, the many Ballerina Farm kids were all part of the plan (even if not all of the individual children were planned, but more on that in a minute).

"The children have been the key to our farm dream. Their presence is constantly pushing us to the next phase of our new found lifestyle. It’s all for them," Hannah wrote on Instagram in August 2020. "Five years ago Daniel had a desk job and I was giving private ballet lessons, performing and pageant coaching. Now we spend Friday nights on horseback, humming country songs, checking irrigation ditches and doctoring sick livestock. The hardest part of the transition has been the consistency. Animals are no respecters of times and days. They can get sick or give birth on Saturday night or the 4th of July. We need to be here for them."

She continued, "The sacrifices are worth it. I don't get out much. I'm always in my chore boots. My hands are rough and mud stained. I'm learning to make cheese, bread and grow a garden. Daniel doctored his first steer off horseback today. After baby comes I want to better my horse riding skills. I am a ranch woman. Daniel is my ranching man. Our littles propel us to grow in this new life."

The Neelemans are proud to have their children help out on the farm (in addition to Ballerina Farm's 100-deep staff), and they're frequently featured in Ballerina Farm content. Get to know Ballerina Farm's kids and find out if the Neelemans plan on having any more babies.

How many children do the Ballerina Farms have?

Whether or not Hannah Neeleman wants more kids honestly seems irrelevant to the family. Daniel does, however: He told The Sunday Times that he wants to be able to fill their 15-seater minibus. When asked if she agreed, Hannah replied, reportedly sounding "unsure," "We are getting old and worn out. So we’ll see."

There may well be more if Daniel has his way, because none of Hannah's pregnancies were planned so far. Instead, the couple relies on prayer to determine whether or not they'll bring another baby into the world.

“I’m, like, ‘God, is it time to bring another one to the Earth?’ And I’ve never been told no," Hannah told the Times. "It's definitely a matter of prayer." Hannah also revealed that all of their births were at home, and that for only one of them, she got an epidural because Daniel was away.

“But for whatever reason it’s exactly nine months [after a baby] that she’s ready for the next one,” Daniel said. “It’s a matter of prayer but somehow it’s exactly nine months.”

After the article was published, Hannah clarified on their Ballerina Farm website that both she and Daniel both always wanted a large family.

Are the Ballerina Farm kids homeschooled?

Yes, and in fact, that's the only formal hired help that the Neelemans have for childcare: A teacher who lives nearby reportedly instructs the older children with a Mormon-Christian syllabus in a small barn on the Ballerina Farm property. (The barn was originally going to be a home ballet studio for Hannah—the only space on the entire compound that would have been just for her—but was converted into the children's school room.)

Both Hannah and Daniel were home schooled as kids, so it's following their family tradition.

In early 2025, however, the older Neeleman kids briefly went to a private Catholic school in Ireland while their parents attended cookery school and the family temporarily resided in the country.

"Our six older kids started private Catholic school—their first time in a formal classroom," Hannah wrote in her blog in March 2025. "They were nervous, but I had a feeling they’d love it. We got them uniforms and backpacks (a first for our homeschool crew), and they’ve really embraced the experience."

    Does Ballerina Farm have nannies?

The Neelemans have stated publicly that they don't have a nanny.

Daniel told the Sunday Times in July 2024 that he explicitly did not want the family to have help with their childcare, because he expected Hannah to do most of that herself.

“I expected Hannah to be more at home with the kids," he admitted, "But she said, ‘I watched my parents working together and so whatever we do, we got to do it together.’”

"We wanted a business where we could work together as a couple and involve our eight children. I didn't want to have to put them in day care or leave them with a nanny," she told Business Insider. "Our kids have always been really independent. The boys especially love working on the farm, and after lunch they go and move pastures for the cattle and it's like, something they love to do and love to be a part of."

Technically, none: The Neelemans' kids are all toddlers or older.

What are Ballerina Farm's kids' names?

The Neelemans' share sons Henry, 13, Charles, 11 and George, 10, and daughters Frances, 8, Lois, 6, Martha, 4, Mabel, 3, and baby Flora, who will turn 2 on Jan. 2, 2026.
