Peaky Blinders movie The Immortal Man unveils chilling first-look trailer as Tommy Shelby returns from the dead

An early Christmas present has arrived for Peaky Blinders fans – with Netflix having just released the first trailer for next year's movie spin-off The Immortal Man.

In the brief teaser, which you can watch below, we see our first footage of Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby since he faked his own death in the show's dramatic season finale back in 2022.

We find him wandering around and cutting a very isolated figure, before we hear a voice asking: "Whatever happened to Tommy Shelby, the famous gypsy gangster?"

Later, we hear him declare: "I'm not that man, any more", while the clip also teases all sorts of dramatic events, from massive explosions to a gathering of a group of apparent Nazis.

Meanwhile, fans have also been given brief glimpse at one of the new faces who will be joining the cast for this continuation of the Birmingham gangster saga, in the form of Barry Keoghan.

However, there's no sign yet of fellow series newcomer Rebecca Ferguson, who previously told RadioTimes.com that she had "wanted to work with Cillian for a very long time."

The trailer arrives just a few weeks after the film confirmed that it will be arriving on Netflix on 20th March 2026, following a release in cinemas on 6th March 2026.

And while certain plot details are understandably being kept under wraps, a synopsis for the movie reads: "Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet.

"With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders…"

Of course, regardless of the events that unfold in the film, we know for sure that this won't be the final chapter in the Shelby saga.

It was confirmed in October that the series would return for not one but two more seasons, picking up after a time jump and telling the story of a new generation of Shelbys.

The official synopsis for the show teases that "the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions".

Peaky Blinders is available to stream on BBC iPlayer. The movie will stream on Netflix – sign up from £5.99 a month. Netflix is also available on Sky Glass and Virgin Media.
