Former 5-star recruit and current Missouri defensive end Damon Wilson II is suing Georgia’s athletic association, according to a report.
Per documents obtained by The Athletic, Wilson’s attorneys filed a 42-page complaint in Boone County, Mo., on Tuesday alleging a civil conspiracy involving the Bulldogs and Georgia’s Classic City Collective to try to “penalize Wilson for his decision to transfer.”
The suit alleges that Georgia interfered with Wilson’s ability to enter the transfer portal and also lied about his Name, Image and Likeness buyout.
Georgia is seeking arbitration, alleging Wilson owes $390,000 in damages after Wilson signed an agreement to return to Athens for his junior season before entering the transfer portal a month later.
The issue is reportedly believed to be the first time a player and school have taken each other to court over an NIL dispute.
Wilson, a former 5-star recruit from Venice, Fla., transferred to Missouri for the 2025 season – where he recorded 9 sacks and a forced fumble en route to second-team All-SEC honors. Wilson played at Georgia from 2023-24, totaling 13 solo tackles, 3½ sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
