England face further questions about their approach to an Ashes tour of Australia after a late-night video of Ben Duckett emerged on social media.
An ECB spokesperson told The i Paper that they are aware of the footage and will seek to establish the facts before taking any further action.
Duckett was previously banned during an England Lions tour Down Under because he poured a drink over James Anderson during a 2017 night out in Perth.
The opening batter, who has averaged just 16.16 against Australia in the first three Test matches, has since reinvigorated his England career with nine international hundreds, but now finds his place under threat again.
“We are aware of content circulating on social media,” an ECB spokesperson said.
“We have high expectations for behaviour, accepting that players are often under intense levels of scrutiny, with established processes that we follow when conduct falls below expectations. We also support players that need assistance.
“We will not comment further at this stage while we establish the facts.”

— Liverwood (@21_liverwood) December 23, 2025The video appears to show Duckett in the street, talking to three others.
“She is literally trying to help you,” says the man filming the video.
“Do you want to go home? I’ll order a f**king Uber on your phone.”
One of the girls asks Duckett: “Do you want me to ask them [security] to speak to your friends? Do you know where you’re staying? Do you know how to get home?”
He replies: “No.”
The video’s owner then offers Duckett “an Uber to the nets, it’s probably for the best, we’re losing 2-0”.
Duckett replies: “Who are you?”
He says: “I’m Sam. Who are you?”
“F**k knows,” says Duckett, before confirming his name and adding “apparently people know who I am”.
Before the video emerged, managing director of cricket Rob Key said he would be investigating claims of a drinking culture within the squad.
Reports claimed that some players went too far on the team’s mid-series break to Noosa, a four-day trip to Queensland’s luxury holiday resort following the second Test defeat in Brisbane.

It didn’t work, with Ben Stokes’ men beaten by 82 runs as they lost the Ashes in just 11 days of cricket.
Reports have now claimed that some players spent the aftermath of Brisbane and the break in Noosa drinking heavily on a trip that’s been described as a glorified stag do.
“The Noosa trip, I had no issue with it,” Key told reporters in Melbourne, before becoming aware of the Duckett video.
“I think it’s so important that these players can get away, live a normal life. I’ve actually read what’s been written in the last day or so.
“And if it goes into where they’re drinking lots and it’s a stag do, all of that type of stuff, that’s completely unacceptable. I’m not a drinker, I think a drinking culture doesn’t help anyone whatsoever.
“We’ve added security, we’ve got enough ways of finding out exactly what happened and everything I’ve heard so far – that they sat down, had lunch, had dinner, didn’t go out late – all of that, had the odd drink, I don’t mind that.
“If it goes past that, then that’s an issue as far as I’m concerned. But from what I’ve seen so far, and I know there’s lots of people that might disagree, but that’s what we’ll find out.”
