VICTOR, N.Y. — A Victor man is facing charges after New York State Police say he played a role in the death of an 18-year-old from alcohol intoxication a year and a half ago.
A grand jury indicted Ariel Ceja, 32, with criminally negligent homicide and unlawful dealing with a child. It comes after an investigation into the death of Maria Cecilia De Jesus-Garcia in August of 2024. She was found dead on Winding Creek Way in Victor and an autopsy determined alcohol had caused her death.
State Police say they reviewed surveillance video from Adelita’s Mexican Cocina and Tequila, where De Jesus-Garcia worked and was last known to have drunk alcohol. According to troopers, alcohol was served to her even though she was under the legal drinking age.
Ceja was arrested last week and taken to the Ontario County Jail, pending her arraignment.
