Damascus, Dec. 23 (SANA)Syrian Finance Minister Mohammed Yisr Barnieh met with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Yuhini Onishi and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in economic and financial fields.
The meeting highlighted Japan’s role in supporting Syria’s path of development, recovery, and reconstruction, as well as prospects for expanding economic cooperation. It also stressed the importance of encouraging Japanese investors to take advantage of available opportunities in the Syrian market to achieve mutual interests for both countries.
The two sides also reviewed several possible options and mechanisms for addressing debt-related issues in ways that serve both parties’ interests and contribute to strengthening future financial cooperation.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to continuing dialogue and coordination to further develop bilateral relations and strengthen the economic partnership between Syria and Japan.
