2025 IN FAST Santa Claus Classic
December 4-7, 2025 Fishers High School Natatorium, Fishers, IN SCY (25 yards) “2025 IN FAST Santa Claus Classic – copied – c” on Meet MobileAt the Fishers Area Swimming Tigers Santa Claus Classic, 10-year-old Gabriel Brown climbed the 10 & Under boys National Age Group rankings in several events, while clipping the Indiana Swimming 10 & Under Association Records in the 50 backstroke, 100 back, and 200 IM in the process.
On the first day of action in Fishers, Brown raced in the 10 & under 200 IM, where he ran away with the win in 2:15.97, winning the event by 20 seconds, and clocking a new best time by nearly two and a half seconds. That swim rewrote his own 10 & under 200 IM association record, but Brown would later lower it even further.
Later in the meet, Brown raced the 200 IM again in the open age group, finishing 21st overall, dropping even more time from his newly set association record in 2:15.66. That time moves him up to 17th all-time in the 10 & under NAG rankings in the 200 IM, just one spot ahead of Luka Mijatovic (2:15.85).
Brown’s next record-setting effort came in the 100 back; in prelims, he stormed to the wall in the open 100 back in 1:01.93, dropping over a second and a half, and breaking Grant House’s 2009 association record in the event of 1:03.09. Brown’s performance slingshotted him up the all-time 10 & under performers list, now sitting at 22nd.
This was the 2nd Grant House record that Brown has toppled in the last two months, cracking House’s 50 back record of 29.64 at the CSC Fall Frenzy in early November in 29.55. That time was bettered here when Brown led off the 200 medley relay in 29.19, making him the 31st fastest performer in the 10 & under age group.
In the 500 free, Brown finished 17th overall in 5:17.53, just over three tenths faster than he was a month earlier in 5:17.91, and moved him up to 15th on the all-time 10 & under performers rankings.
Brown also saw a significant time drop in the 100 breaststroke, lowering his former best from 1:15.81 to 1:13.33, placing 19th overall.
Brown still can raise his 10 & Under rankings for another nine months before he turns 11, and moves up to the 11-12 age group.
Other Notable Performances:
13-year-old Grace Gannon earned five wins on the meet, earning victories in the girls’ 100 back (57.53), 100 breast (1:04.95), 200 breast (2:20.10), 200 IM (2:04.50), and 400 IM (4:20.86); notching best times in all five of those races. Maddox Mackrell, 9, earned numerous top-three finishes in the boys’ 10 & under age group, including wins in the 50 fly (31.01), 100 fly (1:10.45), and 200 free (2:11.08). Mackrell finished runner-up in 50 free (27.94), 100 free (1:00.63), 100 back (1:15.47), and 200 IM (2:35.97).Read the full story on SwimSwam: Gabriel Brown Climbs All-Time Boys’ 10 & Under NAG Leaderboard at FAST Santa Claus Classic
