Formula One–Inspired Theme Park Set to Open in Texas in 2026

Texas is known for doing things big—and in 2026, that includes adding a brand-new Formula One racing-inspired theme park to the mix.

Called COTALAND, the park is being developed next to Circuit of the Americas, the U.S. home of Formula One racing outside Austin. When fully open, COTALAND is expected to span about 30 acres and feature roughly 30 attractions, blending high-speed thrills with racing-themed experiences and family-friendly rides. The full park is currently slated to open in 2026.

While most of COTALAND is still under construction, one major attraction is already operating in a limited way. Circuit Breaker, the park’s headline roller coaster, began running in October during select concerts, races and special events at Circuit of the Americas. Outside of those event days, the park is not yet open to the general public.

Circuit Breaker isn’t a typical coaster. It’s what’s known as a tilt coaster, meaning riders are slowly angled forward until the track beneath them literally tilts and reconnects to a vertical drop. Riders pause at a 90-degree angle before plunging straight down. The ride reaches speeds close to 60 miles per hour and sends riders through multiple inversions and tunnels along the way. When it opens, Circuit Breaker will be the first tilt coaster in Texas—and only the second of its kind in the United States.

Another major coaster already under construction is Palindrome, whose name says it all: the ride runs forward, then repeats the experience in reverse. The coaster stretches more than 1,200 feet and includes several inversions, along with a zero-gravity stall that carries riders over Circuit of the Americas Boulevard—making it one of the few coasters in the country to cross over an active roadway.

Not everything at COTALAND is about high-speed thrills. The Soggy Logger, a classic log flume-style ride, brings a slower-paced option with a Texas twist. The attraction features a Hill Country theme and ends with a five-story drop designed to cool riders off on hot Central Texas days. According to park officials, testing on the ride is expected to begin soon.

COTALAND’s lineup also includes experiences tied directly to racing culture. Hot Lap allows guests to take a lap on the Circuit of the Americas track itself, while Rainbow Flyer, a towering swing ride, lifts riders 150 feet above the park for sweeping views of the racetrack. A selection of kiddie and family rides is also planned.

For Austin-area residents—and visitors already heading to Circuit of the Americas for races, concerts or events—COTALAND is shaping up to be a major new draw. With signature rides taking shape for a 2026 debut, the countdown to Texas’ next theme park is officially on.
