Justin Jefferson hasn’t always played on good teams as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming one of the top wide receivers in the National Football League.
Jefferson saw plenty of involvement during the Vikings’ Week 16 game against the New York Giants. He made six catches for 85 yards as the Vikings got past the Giants 16-13 on Sunday afternoon.
Those six catches gave Jefferson 66 on the season. For his career, he’s at 567 catches. That breaks a record set by fellow LSU star Jarvis Landry for the most receptions by a player over their first six seasons in the NFL.

— NFL+ (@NFLPlus) December 21, 2025Jefferson has more opportunities to rewrite the record books before the 2025 season ends. According to the Vikings, he needs just 55 yards across the final two games of the season to break Hall of Famer Randy Moss’s record for most receiving yards in six seasons.
Jefferson wasn’t the only Vikings player to hit a milestone on Sunday. Joe Burrow, his longtime teammate at both LSU and in Minnesota, joined Dan Marino and Patrick Mahomes as the only other quarterbacks in NFL history to record 150 passing touchdowns in 75 games or fewer.
