Eli Drinkwitz landed a notable assistant coaching hire Sunday, as Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey was announced as the new Mizzou OC. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Lindsay agreed to a 3-year deal with the Tigers, who had to replace Kirby Moore after Moore accepted the Washington State coaching job earlier in December.
Lindsey was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Michigan for the 2025 season under Sherrone Moore. He spent 2023-24 in the same post at North Carolina and 2022 at UCF. Lindsey was the head coach at Troy from 2019-21 but was fired by the Trojans after going 15-19 in 3 seasons.

Lindsey’s previous SEC experience includes a 2-year stint as offensive coordinator at Auburn from 2017-18 and another year with the Tigers as an offensive analyst in 2013. He got his start as a high school assistant in Alabama in the late-1990s.
Missouri’s offense ranked sixth in the SEC in 2025 at 429.33 yards per game and sixth in scoring at 32.17 points per outing. One of Lindsey’s first tasks in Columbia will be to identify a replacement for quarterback Beau Pribula, who announced last week his intention to enter the transfer portal.
