2025 DUTCH SC CHAMPIONSHIPS

18-year-old Tiago Fonseca Gomes made his presence known in multiple events on the evening, first topping the podium in the men’s 50m back.
Gomes registered an outing of 23.94 for the gold, establishing a new Dutch Junior Reecord in the process.
Giovanni Phillipson was relegated to runner-up status in 24.53 and Raf Hendriks rounded out the podium in 24.55.
Gomes’ next victim was the 200m freestyle where the teen stopped the clock at 1:45.91 to become meet champion.
He notched the sole outing of the pack under the 1:46 barrier, with Austin Namesnik securing silver in 1:46.40 and Lucas Peters bagging the bronze in 1:46.52.
Lotte Hosper was to quick to catch in the women’s 100m back event, putting up a result of 58.70 to beat the field by over a second.
Mare Schallenberg was next to the wall in 59.93 and Maaike Ooms also landed on the podium in 1:00.18.
Hosper’s swim was within striking distance of her best-ever outing, a time of 58.53 put up at this same event two years ago.

Olympian Thomas Verehoeven punched a result of 51.73 as the men’s 100m butterfly victor, a time within a second of his best-ever 51.00 from three years ago. Adding another medal to her haul, 23-year-old Tessa Giele grabbed the gold in the women’s 50m breast. She nailed the top result in 30.72, as Sterre Hendriks was right behind in 30.83 for silver. Nina Zusterzeel hit 31.04 for bronze. Kim Busch delivered a time of 53.28 as the gold medalist in the women’s 100m freestyle race.
