ROCHESTER, N.Y. – It will be a fast-moving storm that will pass just north of the Great Lakes as it brings in a sharp, well defined cold front on this late Saturday night.  This front will produce another rapid change in the temperature by Sunday morning as the mercury will remain in the 20s most of the day.  In addtion, the News10NBC First Alert meteorologists anticipate some strong gusty winds with speeds near 40 miles per hour.  These winds should not be a strong as this past week, so at this time, no change to the News10NBC threat tracker is expected.  However, we will continue to montor the weather data for any changes.

Tonight, look for clouds to give way to partly cloudy skies overnight.  The wind will begin to increase towards morning.  Eventually the temperature will fall from the upper 30s into the mid-20s by sunrise.

Sunday makes the official start of the winter season as the winter solstice begins at 4:03 A.M.  Sunday will be cold and windy with the temperature mainly in the 20s.  Some lake flurries and snow showers will arrive later in the afternoon.
