"I think if you don’t respect people enough to allow them the same rights of marriage, of bodily autonomy and all those things, then I don’t think that you can truly love someone. It’s some sort of weird pity, and it’s not love. For me, standing up to say that how we treat other humans ‘cause they’re different from us is completely unacceptable and I’m pretty sure that is what Jesus would’ve said, but what do I know? I’m not a Christian," she added.
Bure and Sweetin were in a rumored feud earlier a few years back when the two publicly shared different viewpoints on LGBTQ+ issues. At the time, Bure had shared her decision for leaving Hallmark, opting to be affiliated with Great American Family network due to the value of "traditional marriage." This caused JoJo Siwa to speak out.

Sweetin popped up in the comments section in support of Siwa.

“We’ve always been very different on those things,” Sweetin said on an April episode of The Vault with Monica & Amir podcast. “I think it was just, now all of that sort of comes to the surface."
