Candace Cameron Bures Former Co-Star Makes Rare Comment About Actress Faith

Candace Cameron Bure is a devout christian, and she's been very open and honest about her faith. Her "Full House" co-starJodie Sweetin has differing viewpoints, but recently admitted that she has no problem with Bure putting her faith first—even if she doesn't hold the same beliefs.

"She was the closest thing I had to a sister. We fought like sisters, even when we were kids, that’s the relationship we had,” Sweetin, 43, said on the Tuesday, December 16, episode of “The Moment” podcast. "Candace’s faith, to be quite honest, has always been at the forefront for her, and I have zero problem with that."

“I have no problem with religion if it brings you peace and happiness, not necessarily saying that her brand of religion is not necessarily peace and happiness. I don’t really know,” Sweetin continued. “I do know that I don’t think you can truly love people if you don’t respect them.”

"I think if you don’t respect people enough to allow them the same rights of marriage, of bodily autonomy and all those things, then I don’t think that you can truly love someone. It’s some sort of weird pity, and it’s not love. For me, standing up to say that how we treat other humans ‘cause they’re different from us is completely unacceptable and I’m pretty sure that is what Jesus would’ve said, but what do I know? I’m not a Christian," she added.

Bure and Sweetin were in a rumored feud earlier a few years back when the two publicly shared different viewpoints on LGBTQ+ issues. At the time, Bure had shared her decision for leaving Hallmark, opting to be affiliated with Great American Family network due to the value of "traditional marriage." This caused JoJo Siwa to speak out.

""Honestly, I can't believe...that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people," Siwa said on Instagram.

Sweetin popped up in the comments section in support of Siwa.

"You know I love you," she wrote, adding a red heart emoji.

However, Sweetin made it clear that there's no hard feelings between her and Bure, despite their difference of opinions.

“We’ve always been very different on those things,” Sweetin said on an April episode of The Vault with Monica & Amir podcast. “I think it was just, now all of that sort of comes to the surface."
