However, likely unbeknownst to the game operations crew in Norman, “Many Men,” has been a hype song for Alabama all season, and playing it may have backfired on the Sooners.
“We play that song every Friday during our walkthroughs,” cornerback Zabien Brown said. “It’s really our song.”
The motivation the live performance provided the visiting team was apparent, as Alabama players could be seen jumping around and getting amped to play the fourth quarter.
“We definitely got some juice right there for sure,” linebacker Deontae Lawson said.
That “extra juice” may have contributed two offensive possessions later when the Crimson Tide drove 35 yards in four plays to punch in a touchdown to put the team up 34-24, essentially icing the game.
However, Alabama’s star signal caller may have not been as engaged when it came to the quarter break performance.
“I’m going to be honest, I didn’t know that was 50 Cent,” quarterback Ty Simpson said. “I did know that song though.”
The Crimson Tide will return to action on Jan. 1, 2026, for the Rose Bowl versus No. 1 Indiana. The CFP quarterfinal showdown will begin at 3 p.m. CT and will be streamed on ESPN.
