ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester School Board honored the Monroe High School Red Jackets’ football team this week, after winning 34-0 in the Class B state championship.
The team shut out Westchester County’s Sleepy Hollow 34-0, securing the Class B state championship.

The superintendent presented the team with a trophy and certificates for each member.
This victory marks the first football state title in the history of the Rochester City School District.
“We are so proud of this group of young men,” officials said.
“This championship is more than a trophy; it’s a symbol of pride, perseverance, and the spirit of our community,” said Dr. Eric J. Rosser, Superintendent of Schools.
Earlier in the week, the team was recognized during a ceremony at City Hall, where Mayor Malik Evans presented Coach Terrell Cunningham with the Mayor’s Cup.
The victory completes the team’s perfect season at 12-0.
