Jimmy Kimmel ended 2025 on an altogether emotional note during his final episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Delivering his last monologue of the year, the 58-year-old comedian humbly thanked fans for their ongoing support during a notably tough year, most especially when considering the L.A. wild fires and the comic's bitter feud with President Trump.
Above all else, perhaps the toughest challenge Kimmel faced this past year was his brief suspension by ABC. As most viewers might remember, the network temporarily decided to pull his program off the air following Kimmel's comments on the tragic assassination of conservative talk show personality, Charlie Kirk.
“This has been a strange year. It’s been a hard year,” Kimmel opened his monologue by saying. “We’ve had some lows, we’ve had some highs. For me, maybe more than any year of my life. I’m crying already, I’m sorry.”
Regaining his composure, the comedian continue thanking all of his fans, audience members and viewers watching from home.
“I just want to say that we appreciate your support, your enthusiasm and not just for watching," Kimmel said. "This year, you literally pulled us out of a hole, and we cannot thank you enough personally.”
As hard as the past year has been for Kimmel personally, the comic was also quick to point out the “many awful and destructive acts” that took place in the U.S. in 2025. While Kimmel said it wasn't always easy witnessing such acts, the support of his audience members nevertheless made it all worthwhile.
“When I hear from people who tell me that they watch our show, and the shows that my friends and colleagues do on the other channels, and that it makes them feel less crazy, it makes me feel less crazy too,” Kimmel said.
“I also believe it is important that we as Americans let our friends in other countries… know that a lot of us are not okay with what is happening," the 58-year-old went on to say. "There is still much more good in this country than bad, and we hope that you will bear with us during this extended psychotic episode that we’re in the middle of.”
