ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts in Rochester kicked off its annual toy distribution on Wednesday, aiming to spread holiday cheer.
This year, the school is helping 75 families, more than double from previous years. Community partners donated books and toys for kids facing economic challenges.
“We also had a wonderful donor who donated 130 plushie toys. We added those to our gift bags, which include gift wrap and bows. All of those little things that we know would help just add to joy for families this year,” said Kilolo Moyo-White.
The school also has a community food pantry to support families in need. The toy distribution continues on Thursday.
