Carnival Announces Major Changes For Two of Its Most Popular Cruise Ships

Carnival Cruise Line has officially confirmed their deployment plans for two of their most beloved vessels, Carnival Firenze and Carnival Splendor, for the immediate years ahead.

As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, Carnival Cruises are unveiling their plans for the 2027 and 2028 cruising season. In particular, the Carnival Firenze will be sailing as part of the company's Carnival Journeys from Miami, with plans to relocate the ship to New York City by 2028.

The Carnival Splendor, meanwhile, will introduce four new overseas sailings for international destinations, including round-trip voyages from Sydney, Australia and two Carnival Journeys in Southeast Asia.

“This deployment brings together flexibility, variety and distinctive cruise experiences for our guests from iconic cities around the world,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Before heading to New York City, the Firenze will embark on an 11-day Carnival Journeys trip across the Southern Caribbean on May 16, 2027, including stops at Aruba, Curaçao, St. Thomas and Carnival's exclusive resort property of Celebration Key in the Bahamas.

Upon its arrival in New York City in May 27, 2027, the Firenze will begin offering a mix of four- and five-day cruises to Bermuda and Canada, along with five-day voyages to New England and Canada.

Along with the updated changes to Firenze's sailings, Carnival also confirmed that the Splendor will begin offering four new itineraries for the 2027 and 2028 cruise season.

This includes a three day voyage with two at-sea days, a four-day trip to Australia's Moreton Island, and cruises to and from Singapore in Southeast Asia.

The ship's first 15-day Carnival Journeys leaves from Sydney, Australia on July 31, 2027, with visits to the country's Moreton Island, Airlie Beach and Cairns; Lembar Lombok, Indonesia; Benoa, Bali; and a final sea day crossing the Equator.

The Splendor's 16-day return cruise to Sydney follows the same basic itinerary, with an extra stopover at Darwin, Australia.
