ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 25-year-old woman was sentenced to prison for robbing a postal carrier in Rochester in 2023.
Shyasia Kelis McCullough, of Rochester, was sentenced to 12 months in prison. Prosecutors say in June 2023, McCullough, co-defendant Malik Shameer McCray, and others, took a key from a mail carrier on Lake Avenue.
Prosecutors say McCray stole the keys, while McCullough and the others waited in a getaway car. They also say McCullough encouraged McCray to steal the keys through a text message that read “U gotta scare him and make sure he don’t see u again bro jus get up on him when he least expected … It 100,000 on the line take a deep breath and jus go for it … He not stronger then you.”
McCray fled to the getaway car after the robbery, and him and McCullough fled the area. McCray was previously convicted and is awaiting sentencing.
