New information has come to light regarding Nick Reiner's behavior patterns before the tragic death of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
Longtime family friend, cinematographer Barry Markowitz, opened up about recently staying with the Reiners, sharing a bit about what he experienced while in the family's domain.
“I may have been one of the last people to see them,” he told PageSix on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Rob and Michele Reiner were killed on Dec. 14. The late couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, reportedly found them deceased at the scene of the crime in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home.
At the time of writing, the iconic director/actor and his wife's son, Nick, had been charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Following the bizarre occurrence, Markowitz admitted he found the reality of the brutal domestic situation quite "puzzling" based on his own experience in their home, where Rob, Michele, and Nick all lived together.
“He looked great. He was sitting and talking with the family,” Markowitz shared of Nick, who has publicly struggled with drug addiction issues since he was a teenager. “They eat dinner together, old school, and a lot of love, always a lot of love.”
The cinematographer shared that the 32-year-old seemed to be "on the upswing," performing daily duties around the house, and often playing tennis and basketball.
“He helped out, he took out the garbage, he watched TV, he washed dishes,” he recalled. “He’d bring me something to drink. He was just normal in that sense.”

In fact, Markowitz didn’t notice “anything strange” about the family dynamics. “I slept in the same house as Nick. There was never a thought, I believe, in Rob’s head [that Nick was a danger.] If he would have thought his life was in peril at any point, he would have handled the situation.”
“I think what’s puzzling the most, the 360, is that there was so much love, that it doesn’t jive,” he added of the charges being brought against Nick regarding his parents' deaths.
“They gave him everything, they tried a million things with him … Not giving him money but sending him to top of the line places," Markowitz further explained of Rob and Michele stepping in to help Nick amid his struggles and stints in rehab.
On Tuesday, Dec. 16, it was determined that Nick was not "medically cleared" to appear in court.
