To back up his point, Yungblud named several contemporary bands across rock’s subgenres. “In hardcore, you’ve got Knocked Loose and Turnstile; and punk you’ve got Amyl and the Sniffers and Lambrini Girls; and indie you’ve got Fontaines[D.C.] and Geese and Wunderhorse.”
It’s clear Yungblud knows exactly what’s happening in today’s rock scene.
Turnstile’s 2025 album Never Enough charted in the top ten in multiple countries and earned Grammy nominations across rock, alternative and metal categories.
Amyl and the Sniffers have won multiple ARIA Awards and earned a Grammy nod for Best Rock Performance. British punk duo Lambrini Girls saw their debut album Who Let the Dogs Out break into the U.K. Albums Chart.
Geese’s 2025 album Getting Killed topped year‑end best‑of lists from critics at The New Yorker, Time, Stereogum and more, while also racking up over 43 million streams on Spotify.
Yungblud is thriving personally, too. His 2026 North American tour, kicking off next year, sold out in just one minute, though tickets are still available online.
Stern is also enjoying a win, having recently renewed his SiriusXM show for another three years, ensuring rock and talk radio continue to have a platform.
