Fans at Brad Paisley's Las Vegas residency shows have interesting requests.
Earlier this month, the country star held two intimate concerts for his "One Man Six Strings" residency in the Encore Theater at the Wynn in Las Vegas. The first couple of shows took place earlier this year in May, while the most recent two concerts took place on Dec 4 and 5.
Instead of performing a strict setlist, Paisley likes to interact with his fans and let them request the songs. Though most audience members request his top hits, like "Water" or "I'm Going to Miss Her," one fan requested Trisha Yearwood's "She's in Love with the Boy," which Paisley agreed to sing.
But on one night, Paisley got a request that was out of his realm. In the December 4 show, he was asked to sing Sir Mix-a-Lot's global hit "Baby Got Back." Though taken aback, he called over a guitar tech to pull out the lyrics on his phone and performed the 1990s song.
Released in May 1992 as the second single from Sir Mix-a-Lot's third album, Mack Daddy, "Baby Got Back" caused controversy because of its outspoken and sexual lyrics objectifying women. The song's music video was also briefly banned by MTV. Despite its issues, the track topped the Billboard Hot 100 and was the second-best-selling song in the United States that year.
"This is getting out of hand," Paisley joked. Before strumming his guitar, he thought out loud to himself, saying, "How would Johnny Cash do 'Baby Got Back'?"
He then posted the clip of him performing his rendition on TikTok, with the caption, "What happens in Vegas..."
@bradpaisleyWhat happens in Vegas… This is what - when you let the audience decide what you’re gonna sing next.

"I did it as Johnny Cash would have done it, and ruined both of their musical legacies," the country star joked.
"Johnny Cash used to always say the song he wished he had written was 'Baby Got Back,'" Meyers responded. "He believed in the sentiment behind it."
For the rest of the segment, Paisley talked about his family and how he and his wife, Kim, created a free grocery and toy store in Nashville to help families in need during the holiday season. In addition, the 53-year-old singer gifted Meyers an Elf on the Shelf for his daughter Adelaide and his two sons, before singing his hit song "That Crazy Elf (On the Shelf)" from his latest holiday album, Snow Globe Town.
Paisley is set to go on tour next year, performing two shows in California and Texas in late January and mid-February, and around Europe next June. Fans can get tickets on his official website. Meanwhile, new episodes of Late Night with Seth Meyers premiere every weekday on NBC at 12:35 am ET.
