Chicago Bears Injury Report: Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III Miss Walk-Through

Packers Week 2.0 is here … and so is the first Chicago Bears Injury report ahead of Saturday’s showdown. And while the Bears opted for a walk-through instead of a full-fledged practice on Tuesday, there are notable updates worth sharing to start the week.

Chicago Bears Injury Report vs. Packers in Week 16

This is what the first installment of the Bears injury report looks like:

    Some notes…

Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (groin) was joined by running back Travis Homer (ankle) and tight end Cole Kmet (ankle, knee) as limited participants on Tuesday’s estimated Bears injury report. This represents Edmunds’ first practice action since landing on injured reserve in November. There seems to be some optimism that he can play on Saturday. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. As for Kmet, he got dinged up on a play in Week 16. I was fearing the worst, but a limited participation on Tuesday eases my concern levels (somewhat).

COULD TREMAINE EDMUNDS PLAY VS. PACKERS IN WEEK 16?

These players have DNPs next to their names on Tuesday’s Bears injury report: Defensive lineman Andrew Billings (illness), wide receiver Luther Burden III (ankle), wide receiver Rome Odunze (foot), and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga (hamstring). Sigh. The Bears didn’t need to have Odunze active on Sunday. And doing so has directly led to Rome going from being a limited participant in practice last week to being a no-go on the first injury report of Packers Week. There is still time to turn this around, but I have my doubts.

Let’s end this post on a high note by circling Tyson Bagent’s name on the Bears injury report. Bagent, who missed Sunday’s Week 15 win against the Browns due to an illness, would have been a full-go had the team held a normal practice. Even still … being a full participant in a walk-through is a good thing.
