Female-Fronted Rock Band Announces New Album After 5-Year Wait

It’s been five years since Evanescence released The Bitter Truth in 2021, but fans won’t have to wait much longer for new music. Frontwoman Amy Lee has confirmed that the band’s next album is coming in 2026 — just in time for their highly anticipated world tour.

Speaking with KROQ’s Kevin Ryder ahead of the band’s performance at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas concert, Lee confirmed the news. “Next year,” she said when asked about the album’s release.

When Ryder followed up with, “Spring?,” Lee replied, “Yeah, let’s say that.”

“I have a few more lyrics to write, but it’s going very well, and I’m really excited about it,” she added.

That schedule seemingly gives fans a first chance to hear Evanescence’s new music live. The rock group is set to tour North America from early June through August, followed by dates in the U.K. and Europe in September.

Evanescence will be performing alongside opening acts Spiritbox and Poppy, with special appearances from Nova Twins and K. Flay, creating a tour lineup featuring all-female lead singers.

“We are thrilled to be bringing out such a variety of our favorite artists and can’t wait to get onstage with them,” the band shared on Instagram.

Evanescence is no stranger to iconic hits like “My Immortal” and “Bring Me To Life,” yet Lee has been teasing new music for over a year. At the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, she opened up to ALT 105.1 about the band’s creative progress.

“We’re in this kind of in-between phase right now because we were touring our last album, 'The Bitter Truth,’ for quite a while,” Lee explained. “I’d say we’re more than halfway. We’re really getting there. [I’m] really excited about it.”

Although the final tracklist hasn’t been officially confirmed, Lee shared, “I think we have all the songs that are gonna be on it at least started, so we’re in that moment of finessing and beautifying and writing lyrics and doing the hard stuff where I slam my head up against the wall.”
