Howard Stern isn't going anywhere, folks.
The celebrated radio host, 71, just announced that he has extended his contract with SiriusXM for another three years.
“I’m happy to announce that I figured out a way to have it all — more free time, and continuing to be on the radio,” he told listeners of The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday, Dec. 16. “So yes, we are coming back for three more years.”

There were reports earlier this year that Stern was “fired” by SiriusXM and that he would exit the gig after his current contract expired at the end of of 2025. The renowned media personality was set to address the matter on his Sept. 8 show — but instead, he punked fans with a gag that Andy Cohen had taken over his channel slot on the satellite-radio broadcaster since Stern had been abruptly been dismissed.
“This is, I know, not the voice that you expected to hear,” Cohen, 57, said on the broadcast. “This is not the voice that you probably wanted to hear, but it is I, Andy Cohen, and this is our first day broadcasting on Channel 100.”
Roughly 10 minutes later, Stern reclaimed the mic and revealed it was all a hoax. And given Stern's exciting announcement on Tuesday after months of negotiations, fans can rest assured he'll remain on the airwaves for at least a few years.
Stern first signed with Sirius in 2004 (prior to its merger with XM), in part to be free of oversight by the FCC, Variety reports. The Howard Stern Show debuted in January 2006, and his most recent five-year renewal with SiriusXM was inked in 2020.
