It's almost January, which means Girl Scout Cookie season is nearly here, and this year's flavor lineup is drawing some emotional reactions from fans.
With just weeks between now and when Girl Scouts begin selling cookies, some have already started putting together a list to order with their local troop (or online) and, in the process, realized that there's been a whole lot of changes made to the 2026 flavor lineup when compared to last year.
As Parade reported at the start of this year, the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) announced that two of its long-standing flavors would be discontinued after the 2025 season and would no longer be produced by either of the bakeries contracted by the group (ABC Bakeries or Little Brownie Bakers).
GSUSA then later revealed it would debut an all-new cookie for the 2026 season. While neither of those facts is brand-new, it's new to some fans who, apparently, weren't paying attention before. So to make sure we're all clear on what can and can't be ordered this year (and where), keep reading.
The 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Flavor Lineup and What Fans Are Saying
Starting with the most controversial update to this year's Girl Scout Cookie flavor lineup is the retirement of two popular cookie flavors: Toast-Yay! and S'mores. According to a Jan. 7 press release from GSUSA, the organization "routinely reevaluate[s] our cookie lineup to make room for new innovations."

And that's exactly what happened here, as with the axing of two presumably underperforming flavors comes the arrival of a new flavor: Exploremores. Though the new cookie certainly rhymes with "S'mores," it's not inspired by the iconic fireside treat. It's actually a spin on the flavors of Rocky Road, featuring a marshmallow-and-toasted-almond crème filling stuffed between two cocoa sandwich cookies.
Along with Exploremores, fans will also find Adventurefuls, Caramel deLites/Samoas, Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-Si-Dos, Gluten-Free Caramel Chocolate Chip (ABC Bakers exclusive), Lemonades (ABC Bakers exclusive), Lemon-Ups (Little Brownie Bakers exclusive), Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs, Thin Mints, Toffee-Tastic (Little Brownie Bakers exclusive) and Trefoils on the list this year—totaling 11 different options with a healthy amount of variety.
Now that the proposed update is a reality and this year's list of flavors has been shuffled, fans are making their feelings known (or at least trying to).

Unlike the flavor lineup, how you can order a box of cookies remains unchanged.
Girl Scouts offer the treats on a local schedule between January and April, so exact timing and availability may vary but it's guaranteed to be available during the first quarter of the year. Consumers can either keep an eye out for tables set up in public spaces, wait for their co-worker to start taking orders for their kids' troop, or mark their calendars for February 2026 when the cookies become available to order online.
