ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Attorney General Letitia James is suing UPS, accusing the company of cheating seasonal workers out of millions of dollars.
James claims that UPS underpaid thousands of holiday workers across the state by failing to record all hours, requiring off-the-clock work, and manipulating timekeeping.
“This wage theft allowed UPS to save millions of dollars while seasonal workers struggled to support their families,” she said.
UPS is the largest package delivery company in the world. Each year during the busy holiday season, the company hires thousands of temporary workers at more than 50 facilities across the state.
AG James is seeking restitution for current and former employees and reforms to stop the alleged wage theft from happening again.
