ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester City School District community will celebrate on Tuesday after Monroe High School came out victorious in the Class B New York State Championship earlier this month.
The Red Jackets took home the first state title in RCSD history. The team beat Westchester County’s Sleepy Hollow 34 – 0 in the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse. You can see News10NBC’s coverage of the championship here.
Members of the team will board a bus to RCSD’s Central Office on West Broad Street, where staff will congratulate them on their historic achievement. After that, the team will then head to Rochester City Hall, where Mayor Malik Evans will present each member with a certificate.
