Finally, Kolkata Knight Riders had the last laugh. KKR secured Green for a massive ₹25.20 crore, making him the most expensive overseas player ever bought in IPL history.
With this record-breaking deal, the Australian all-rounder broke the record of compatriot Mitchell Starc to become the costliest overseas player ever at the IPL auction.
Starc had this honor when the Australian fast bowler was brought by the same franchise, KKR, for INR 24.75 crore at the IPL 2024 auction.
