Organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games have announced that registration for the Olympic ticket draw will begin on January 14, 2026 on LA28’s tickets page.
The ticketing process for the Olympic Games is fairly complex. Beginning January 14, fans can register interest, and then will receive an email that will tell them if they have been assigned a time slot during one of their ticket drops. Organizers say the time slots are assigned randomly.
Individuals who register with addresses in the greater Los Angeles or Oklahoma City regions will “have a chance to secure a time slot during a special early access window.”
While complete ticket prices have not yet been announced, organizers are boasting that ‘at least one million tickets’ will be sold for $28, and every sport at the 2028 Olympic Games will have tickets available at that price point. A third of the tickets for the Olympics will be under $100.
“That’s not just lip service to a couple tickets in the corner of some venue, but a meaningful number of tickets,” said LA28 chief Allison Katz-Mayfield. “We are looking at at least a million tickets at $28.”
Tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympics started at 24 Euros ($28 USD).
The announcement comes amid an uproar about the U.S.-Mexico-Canada hosted World Cup in 2026, where ticket prices are as much as three times the prices of the last edition in Qatar in 2022. The cheapest tickets for the final cost over $4,000.
The Los Angeles Times reported this week that the Los Angeles City officials indicated the potential for a lawsuit against LA28 organizers for cost overruns.
