Hamilton continued, "I was lucky enough to interview him over the years — and every single time, he was as kind, hilarious, generous, and genuine as you’d hope. A brilliant storyteller, but an even better man."
The TV news personality added a final memory from their last encounter, giving insight into how Reiner stepped back into one of his legendary roles: "The last time we spoke (a few weeks ago), he did the entire interview as his character from THIS IS SPINAL TAP — I don’t think he ever broke character, but as he shook my hand at the end, he winked and I always wondered if that was coming from 'Marty DiBergi' or from Rob."
