The All-American Rejects experienced an unexpected incident at the holiday concert, causing them to abruptly pause their performance mid-song.
On Saturday, the rock band brought a wave of 2000s nostalgia to the Kia Forum in California for KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas.
They were joined by fellow music icons Evanescence, Papa Roach, The Paradox, Rise Against, Third Eye Blind, Social Distortion, Wet Leg and Yellowcard, delivering a star-studded lineup that thrilled fans from start to finish.
The four-piece band hyped the audience with their classic hits “Dirty Little Secrets,” “I Wanna,” “Swing, Swing” and more.
However, while performing another hit track, “Gives You Hell,” frontman Tyson Ritter asked the band to stop and called the crew's attention after noticing a concertgoer in distress.

But it didn’t stop there—he passed his guitar to a crew member and handed his water bottle to the girl.
While the event staff assisted the person, Ritter kept the mood lighthearted, teasing a bit of fun and holiday festivity.
“We need Twinkies, some sugar. Anybody got any gumdrops?” he asked the audience. “It’s f------ Christmas time, do we have any Christmas gumdrops? Pieces of gingerbread houses?”
He then checked on the person again, saying, “You okay, babe?”
Thankfully, the security and crew managed to lift the girl from the barricade and move her to a safer place.
However, with the incident, Ritter was unsure whether it was appropriate to continue performing the song, so he jokingly asked the crowd if it would be “not cool” to finish it.
Despite the scary situation, fans praised the lead vocalist’s quick thinking and care for the fan.
“This was also the most respectful mosh pit I’ve ever seen. Elder emos. Just a respectful night all the way around,” one wrote.
Based on the band’s official social media page, the majority of the crowd enjoyed the set and appreciated how the situation was handled.
