ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A local organization recognized International Human Rights Week at the Islamic Center of Rochester.
The event featured speakers from the New York State Council of Churches. The goal was to explore practical and faith-informed ways to protect human rights for all.
Deni Mack, of the Greater Rochester Community of Congregations, said, “All of these people are actively caring about human rights in a world gone a little bit crazy and desperately in need of focusing on expanding human rights, On defending human rights, on developing a consciousness that protects one another rather than vilify one another.”
Donations for Foodlink and the Women’s & Children’s Center of the Open Door Mission were also collected.
