India U19 captain Mhatre spun the coin at the toss before the start of IND vs PAK clash, with the coin toss not working in his favour. The captains, instead of shaking hands, directly went on to speak to the broadcaster after the toss. Earlier, reports had claimed that the ICC had asked the BCCI if it would drop its no handshake policy for the IND vs PAK U19 game.

The ‘handshake saga’ captured the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 so much so that the actual on-field cricket was the less talked about topic. In all the three times India faced Pakistan in their Asia Cup winning campaign, the BCCI asked the players not to shake hands with any Pakistani.
