Kartik Sharma goes big
As Aakash Chopra predicted, Kartik Sharma ended up as the most expensive uncapped player at the mock auction. Chennai started the bid for the wicketkeeper batter, with Gujarat chiming in. Bengaluru jumped in at INR 2 crore, and Lucknow joined as well.
Lucknow bowed out as Kolkata entered the race with INR 3.50 crore. Gujarat and Kolkata went back and forth until Hyderabad joined at the nth hour with a big INR 6.50 crore bid and ended up one-upping Kolkata to buy the 19-year-old for INR 7.50 crore.
