ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Today will be cold with highs in the upper 20s/low 30s but winds up to 35 MPH will make it feel like the low 20s at best. The winds will be strongest along a cold front that will arrive late this morning, bringing some accumulating snow. Only a few tenths of an inch are expected across the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. Temperatures plummet into the teens this evening and single digits overnight.
Tomorrow morning’s wind chill will be in the negative single digits. Highs will only be in the upper teens, and snow showers off of Lake Ontario will move in during the afternoon. These will be less organized and thus do not pose that much of a risk. Another inch of snow is possible.
Bitter cold temperatures continue Monday as an Alberta clipper sweeps through, bringing us some fresh snow, minor accumulations only. A break in the snow on Tuesday, still cold. Temperatures rise above freezing on Wednesday with lake rain showers off of Lake Erie possible, then Thursday we get past the 40 degree mark with widespread rain and wind moving in in the P.M., changing over to snow for Friday morning.
