This year, Hanukkah begins on Sunday, December 14 and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than by watching Oy to the World on Hallmark Channel. The network's newest original movie stars Brooke D’Orsay and Jake Epstein as choir leaders and former high school rivals forced to collaborate after a last-minute emergency. It's worth noting that Hallmark always includes the Jewish faith in their Countdown to Christmas programming. Past Hanukkah-themed films include Hanukkah on the Rocks, Double Holiday and Eight Gifts of Hanukkah.
Here's everything we know about 2025's Oy to the World—including the plot, full cast and how to watch and stream it. Plus, don't miss the Parade exclusive sneak peek!

When water lines break at Temple Beth Am, it leaves its members schvitzing—and in need of a place to celebrate Hanukkah. St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church is located across the street and quick to open its doors and offer shared space for the holidays. But with the last night of Hanukkah and Christmas Eve falling on the same day—something that rarely happens—the reverend and rabbi decide to offer a joint service for their congregations.
But that means St. Joseph’s Youth Choir Director Nikki Roberts (D’Orsay) must team up with Jake Cohen (Epstein)—Temple Beth Am's substitute choir director—and put on a single music program. Did we mention these two are old high school rivals?
To lead a successful fundraising effort for the temple, Nikki and Jake have to put aside their differences and learn how to work together. In doing so, they discover teamwork can move mountains and open hearts—including their own. Will Nikki and Jake find a way to unite people through the power of song and prove that coming together is the best way for everyone to celebrate the holiday season?
