Kenan Dracic from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Alabama beginning in fall 2026.
“After careful consideration, I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to pursue my academic and athletic career at the University of Alabama! First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to my family. Also I would like to thank my head coach Evelin and my first coach who introduced me to swimming Haris, coach Catie and Margo for making my process easier, and friends who have provided me with the ability to excel in and out of the pool. I can’t wait to be a part of the Tide! Roll Tide”
Dracic swims for P.K. Sporttime Sarajevo and most recently competed at the 2025 SCM European Championships in Poland while he represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the international level. There he swam to a best time of a 48.93 in the 100 free. he also was 55th in the 200 free in a 1:46.35.
This past summer, Dracic swam to two best times at the 2025 World Championships. He finished 34th in the 200 free with a 1:48.59 and 44th in the 100 free in a 50.06.
Dracic’s Best SCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
50 free: 22.34 (20.12) 100 free: 48.83 (43.99) 200 free: 1:43.97 (1:33.66)The Alabama men finished 6th out of 11 teams at the 2025 SEC Championships. They went on to finish 13th at the 2025 NCAA Championships and were led by Charlie Hawke who has since graduated.
Based on his best converted times, Dracic would have been on the border of the ‘B’ and ‘C’ final at the 2025 SEC Championships. It took a 42.75 in the 100 free and a 19.53 in the 50 free to earn a second swim.
Dracic will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Gunnar Hansen, Carter Wright, Jack Grimley, and Bogdan Zverev. Notably also arriving with Dracic next fall but on the women’s side is Iman Avdic who also represents Bosnia and Herzegovina at the international level while competing for P.K. Sporttime Sarajevo.
