After more than 40 years on the air, the long running Australian soap opera Neighbours has aired its series finale. Executive producer and showrunner Jason Herbison marked the occasion by sharing a message with fans following the episodes release.
Herbison addressed viewers in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on the day of the finale aired, thanking them for their support.
“Thank you Neighbours fans for your love and your loyalty,” Herbison wrote. “I hope you enjoy today's finale. It's very different to 2022, but ultimately hopeful in tone.”
Herbison also wrote the show’s 2022 finale, which originally marked the end of the series before its revival. That episode famously brought back cast members across Neighbours history, including Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue, who reprised their roles as iconic super couple Scott and Charlene.
In his latest post, Herbison struck a hopeful note about the franchise’s future. “Maybe the show will be back some day in another form? For now, we have our memories,” he added. “We are STILL the perfect blend.”
