PENN YAN, N.Y. — An elderly woman is recovering after Penn Yan Police say she was hit by a bus in Penn Yan Tuesday morning.
Police say the 79-year-old bus driver was turning onto Liberty Street from Elm Street when he hit Judy Thompson, 79, as she was crossing Liberty Street.
Thompson was flown to the hospital by helicopter for treatment.
The driver was driving a Pro Action of Steuben and Yates bus. Pro Action is a local anti-poverty nonprofit. News10NBC has reached out to Pro Action for comment and waiting to hear back.
Police say they are still investigating, and charges towards the driver may be pending.
